Why SuperScrape Mat?

Not all rubber is created equal. Standard SBR rubber mats work fine in clean, dry environments — but expose them to grease, oil, or harsh chemicals, and they break down. The surface gets slick. The rubber degrades. You’re left with a mat that’s more hazard than help.

The SuperScrape Mat uses 100% nitrile rubber — the same material used in industrial gaskets and chemical-resistant gloves. It shrugs off grease, oil, and chemicals that would destroy standard rubber. The molded tread pattern features surface cleats that aggressively scrape dirt and grime from shoes, trapping debris below foot level where it can’t be tracked inside.

Here’s what sets SuperScrape Mat apart: it actually gets more slip-resistant when wet. Independent testing shows a coefficient of friction of 0.85 dry and 0.90 wet — certified high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute. That’s why it’s equally at home as an outdoor scraper mat or as a slip-resistant surface in wet industrial areas.

And unlike fabric mats, SuperScrape can be commercially laundered or autoclave sterilized — making it ideal for food service, healthcare, and other environments where hygiene is critical.

SuperScrape vs. SuperScrape Plus

Choose SuperScrape when you want the classic tread pattern and solid border, or need larger sizes.

Cleaning Instructions

SuperScrape mats offer multiple cleaning options:

Hand Washing

1. Scrub with deck brush using neutral pH detergent
2. Rinse with hose or pressure washer
3. Hang to dry

Commercial Laundering

1. Flush 2-3 minutes, high water level, cold
2. Break 5-10 minutes, high water level, 120°F (49°C)
3. Rinse 2 minutes, high water level, cold
4. Rinse 2 minutes, high water level, cold
5. Drain 2 minutes
6. Rotate wash wheel with drain valve open to remove excess water
7. Lay mats flat after removal; allow to cool before rolling

Autoclave Sterilization SuperScrape can be sterilized in a standard autoclave for healthcare, laboratory, and food service applications.

FAQs

What’s the difference between SuperScrape and SuperScrape Plus?
SuperScrape has a solid border and oval-shaped tread cleats. SuperScrape Plus has a drainable border (water escapes through holes) and multi-directional geometric treads. Choose Plus when drainage is important; choose standard SuperScrape for a solid border or larger sizes.

Why is the wet coefficient of friction higher than dry?
Nitrile rubber’s surface characteristics actually improve traction when wet. The 0.90 wet vs 0.85 dry coefficient means SuperScrape provides excellent slip resistance in wet conditions — which is why it’s recommended for wet work areas.

Can I use this mat in a commercial kitchen?
Yes. SuperScrape is grease-proof and oil-proof, making it ideal for commercial kitchens. It can also be commercially laundered or autoclave sterilized for food safety compliance.

What does “autoclave sterilizable” mean?
An autoclave uses high-pressure steam to sterilize equipment. SuperScrape can withstand autoclave cycles without degrading — important for healthcare, laboratory, and food processing environments that require sterilized surfaces.

Is this mat suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. SuperScrape works well as an outdoor scraper at building entrances. The nitrile rubber is durable and resistant to weather, oils, and chemicals commonly found at exterior entrances.

How heavy is this mat?
SuperScrape is relatively lightweight for a rubber mat. The 3’x10′ size weighs approximately 22 lbs. The thin 3/16″ profile keeps weight manageable while providing effective scraping action.

Will this mat lay flat out of the box?
Rubber mats may arrive rolled. Allow 24-48 hours for the mat to relax and lay flat, or place in direct sunlight briefly to warm and flatten.
