The Frontier Mat takes a different approach. The unique spaghetti-loop vinyl construction creates a soft, cushioned surface that’s comfortable on bare feet while providing excellent wet traction. Water drains right through the open loops rather than pooling on the surface or getting trapped underneath. The mat stays drier. The walking surface stays safer.

The unbacked design is key — maximum drainage for areas where water is constantly present. For entrance applications where you want more moisture containment, choose the bordered version. Either way, you get lightweight, flexible matting that’s easy to handle, cut to size, and clean.

Frontier mats are designed for easy cleaning in hygiene-critical wet areas:

1. Shake — Pick up mat and shake vigorously to dislodge dirt and debris
2. Scrub (if needed) — Use a deck brush with neutral pH detergent for stubborn soil
3. Rinse — Hose off or use a pressure washer
4. Dry — Hang mat to dry; the open-loop design dries quickly

For best hygiene in locker rooms and pool areas, clean mats regularly to prevent buildup of body oils, soap residue, and organic matter.

Is this mat comfortable on bare feet?
Yes. The soft, flexible PVC loops cushion the foot and conform to your step. Frontier is specifically designed for areas where people walk barefoot — pools, showers, locker rooms.

Why choose the unbacked version vs. the bordered version?
The unbacked (no border) version allows maximum water drainage in all directions — best for pool decks, showers, and areas with constant water. The bordered version contains moisture better and provides a finished edge — better for entrances or where you want a polished appearance.

Can I cut this mat to size?
Yes. The flexible vinyl can be cut with a utility knife to fit your space exactly. Measure, mark, and cut on-site for custom installations.

Will this mat get slippery when wet?
No — the opposite. The loop design provides multi-directional grip that actually improves traction when wet. That’s why Frontier is recommended specifically for wet areas.

Is this mat resistant to mildew and bacteria?
PVC vinyl resists mold and mildew growth better than fabric mats. For best hygiene, clean regularly and allow to dry between uses. In high-traffic commercial applications, establish a regular cleaning schedule.

Can I use this mat outdoors?
Yes. Frontier works well for outdoor pool decks, patios around hot tubs, and covered outdoor wet areas. The PVC vinyl is weather-resistant.

How heavy are the roll goods?
At 96 oz/sq yd (about 6 lbs per square foot), roll goods are manageable but substantial. A 4’x60′ roll weighs approximately 140 lbs. Consider delivery logistics for large orders.
