This industrial-grade tape is designed specifically for mat and tile installation. The aggressive adhesive bonds firmly to both mat backing and floor surfaces, while the silicone-coated blue liner makes application straightforward. When it’s time to remove or reposition, the tape releases cleanly with no sticky residue left behind.

Installation Instructions (WaterHog Forklift Example)

1. Place the mat face down with rubber backing side up.
2. Apply tape along all four sides of the tile, as close to the edge as possible.
3. Create an X inside the rectangle by placing tape from one corner diagonally to the opposite corner.
4. Position the tile in the desired location.
5. Carefully fold one half of the tile back, exposing the blue tape backing.
6. Remove the blue liner and press the mat firmly into place.
7. Repeat on the other half of the tile.
8. Walk around all edges, applying pressure to secure the bond.

Double-sided tape works best on clean, smooth, dry surfaces:

• Smooth vinyl/LVT
• Wood flooring

Not Recommended For:

• Unsealed/porous concrete (adhesive may not bond properly)
• Outdoor surfaces exposed to moisture
• Carpet (use cleated backing instead)

How much tape do I need per mat?
For WaterHog Forklift mats (4’x6′), you need approximately 32 feet of tape per tile. One 108-foot roll covers 3 tiles.

Does this tape leave residue when removed?
No. The tape is designed to release cleanly without leaving sticky residue on floors or mat backing.

What temperature range is this tape rated for?
50°F to 200°F (10°C to 93°C). This covers most indoor commercial and warehouse environments.

Can I reposition mats after applying tape?
Once the tape bonds, repositioning is difficult. For best results, position the mat carefully before pressing down. If you need to reposition, you may need fresh tape.

Is this tape required for all mats?
No. Most entrance mats (WaterHog, ColorStar, etc.) stay in place through friction and their own weight. Tape is specifically required for WaterHog Forklift mats and recommended for modular tiles or roll goods installations where movement could be a problem.

Can I use this tape outdoors?
The tape is rated for temperatures up to 200°F, but outdoor exposure to moisture, dirt, and temperature swings may reduce adhesion. For permanent outdoor installations, consult with us about alternative mounting methods.

How do I apply the tape to curved or irregular edges?
Cut shorter sections and overlap slightly at curves. The 3″ width provides flexibility for following contours.

What’s the blue liner for?
The silicone-coated blue liner covers the adhesive and peels away easily during installation. It allows you to position the tape on the mat before exposing the sticky side.
