Ground Wire Accessories, like the ground wire and snap are used to connect mats with an ESD rating of electrically conductive to a building ground. The general recommendation for a continuous run of ESD matting is for grounding at 10-foot intervals with each separate mat grounded no more than five feet from either end.
Heel Grounders allow static electricity to pass around the shoe into the ESD matting. They are designed for workers wearing rubber soles and other insulating shoes.
Heel Grounders fasten to the heel of the shoes with Velcro. For best performance, allow the fabric strip to touch the sock or skin. Sold individually.
