WaterHog Max Tiles solve the problem. These 18″ x 18″ modular tiles give you WaterHog’s proven bi-level performance in a flexible, scalable format. Cover any size area, work around columns or curves, and replace individual tiles when needed — no ripping up the whole floor. The 30-oz PET fabric (90%+ recycled plastic) resists staining and fading, while reinforced rubber nubs prevent pile crushing even in the heaviest traffic.
12 tiles per case covers 27 square feet. 3 patterns (Diamond, Diagonal, Geometric). 7 colors. NFSI certified high-traction. Indoor/outdoor.
Traditional entrance mats work for standard doorways. But what about a 40-foot lobby? A winding corridor? A recessed mat well with odd dimensions? Standard mats leave gaps. Roll goods require professional cutting and adhesive skills. Neither option lets you easily replace worn sections.
WaterHog Max Tiles change the equation. Each 18″ x 18″ tile delivers the same bi-level scraping and moisture-trapping performance that made WaterHog famous — in a modular format you can configure to fit any space. Install them surface-mounted or recessed. Mix patterns for visual interest. Replace a single damaged tile without disturbing the rest. And because they’re sold by the case, you can easily calculate coverage and reorder as needed.
The heavier 30-oz PET fabric outperforms standard WaterHog tiles (24-oz), with reinforced rubber nubs that prevent pile crushing in the busiest entrances. Solution-dyed fibers resist fading and staining — use them indoors or outdoors, year-round.
Modular Flexibility 18″ x 18″ tiles fit any space — lobbies, corridors, recessed mat wells, irregular layouts. Configure rows and columns to match your dimensions exactly.
Bi-Level Dirt & Moisture Control The signature WaterHog surface scrapes dirt and wipes moisture from shoes, trapping debris in recessed channels below foot level.
30-oz PET Fabric Heavier weight than standard WaterHog tiles (24-oz) for superior durability in high-traffic commercial applications.
Replaceable Tiles Worn or damaged? Replace individual tiles without removing the entire installation. Keep spare tiles on hand for quick maintenance.
3 Pattern Options Diamond, Diagonal, or Geometric designs. Mix patterns for visual interest or use a single design throughout.
NFSI Certified High-Traction Certified slip-resistant by the National Floor Safety Institute. Safe for all traffic including wet conditions.
Eco-Friendly Construction PET fabric made from at least 90% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. SBR rubber backing contains 20% recycled rubber from car tires.
Indoor/Outdoor Use Solution-dyed fibers resist fading and won’t rot. Not adversely affected by salt, ice melt, or UV exposure.

Accessories Available
Surface or Recessed Tiles work for both surface-mounted installations and recessed mat wells.
Step 1: Calculate Coverage Measure length × width of your area to get square footage. Divide by 27 and round up to determine cases needed. Order 5-10% extra for cuts and future replacements.
Step 2: Prepare the Floor Remove old floor coverings, debris, and adhesive. Clean the entire surface of dust and construction materials. Allow floor to dry completely.
Step 3: Acclimate Tiles Allow tiles to sit in the installation area uninstalled for several hours to reach room temperature.
Step 4: Establish Grid Lines Snap chalk lines between midpoints of opposing walls to find center. Verify lines are square using the 3-4-5 method (measure 3′ on one line, 4′ on the other — diagonal should be exactly 5′).
Step 5: Apply Adhesive Apply solvent-free adhesive using a paint roller according to manufacturer’s directions.
Step 6: Install Tiles Starting at center intersection, install tiles along reference lines. Press firmly with palm to ensure good adhesive contact. Place tiles snug against adjacent tiles with edges aligned. Work outward using stair-step method.
Step 7: Cut Perimeter Tiles Place tile to be cut on top of last full tile. Position another tile against wall on top. Mark where edges overlap. Cut through backing with sharp utility knife and straight edge.
How many tiles do I need?
Each case of 12 tiles covers 27 square feet. Measure your area (length × width), divide by 27, and round up. Order 5-10% extra for cuts and future replacement tiles.
Can I mix different patterns?
Yes. All patterns are the same size and thickness, so you can create custom designs by mixing Diamond, Diagonal, and Geometric tiles. Popular approach: use one pattern for the main field and another for borders or accents.
Do I need adhesive?
Yes. WaterHog Max Tiles require solvent-free adhesive (CA024 or equivalent) for permanent installation. Never use adhesives containing solvents as they can damage the rubber backing.
Can I install these in a recessed mat well?
Yes. WaterHog Max Tiles work in both surface-mounted and recessed installations. For deeper recessed wells, 200-mil backing is available to achieve the right finished height.
What’s the difference between WaterHog Max Tiles and WaterHog Modular Tiles?
WaterHog Max Tiles use heavier 30-oz PET fabric for high-traffic durability. WaterHog Modular Tiles use 24-oz polypropylene with an interlocking edge system. Max Tiles require adhesive; Modular Tiles can be interlocked without adhesive.
Can I use these outdoors?
Yes. The solution-dyed PET fabric is UV-stable and won’t fade or rot. Tiles are not adversely affected by salt, ice melt, or weather exposure.
How do I replace a damaged tile?
Cut around the damaged tile with a utility knife to break the adhesive bond. Remove the tile, clean the floor surface, apply fresh adhesive, and press in a new tile.
