When standard entrance mats aren’t enough, the WaterHog CleanShield Stride Mat delivers contamination control at a higher level. This two-stage system combines the proven dirt-scraping power of WaterHog with adhesive peel-off inserts that capture the finest particles — removing over 90% of dirt and debris in just two steps.

How It Works

The CleanShield Stride system uses two distinct surfaces working in sequence:

Stage 1: WaterHog Mat As visitors step onto the WaterHog portion, raised nubs scrape dirt, debris, and moisture from shoe soles. The bi-level waffle pattern traps particles below foot level where they can’t be tracked further.

Stage 2: Adhesive Insert The second step lands on the adhesive insert surface. This tacky layer captures fine dust, lint, and micro-particles that passed through the WaterHog stage. When the top layer becomes soiled, simply peel it off to reveal a fresh adhesive surface underneath.

Result: Over 90% of dirt particles removed before entering your controlled environment.

WaterHog Performance — The mat portion features genuine WaterHog construction: 24 oz solution-dyed PET fiber, bi-level surface pattern, and proven dirt/moisture trapping capability.

Rubber Frame System — The SBR rubber frame holds both the WaterHog mat and adhesive insert in position. Available with smooth backing (hard floors) or universal cleated backing (carpet or hard floors).

Indoor Dry Use — Designed for controlled environments. Not recommended for wet areas or outdoor use.

Cleaning Instructions

WaterHog Mat Portion:

• When top layer becomes soiled, peel it off to reveal fresh adhesive layer beneath

• Dispose of used layers according to facility waste protocols

Are the adhesive inserts included?
No. The mat frame and WaterHog carpet are sold together, but adhesive inserts must be purchased separately. The system requires inserts to function as intended.

How often do I need to change the adhesive layer?
It depends on traffic volume and contamination levels. In high-traffic areas, you may peel a layer daily or more frequently. The numbered layers (60 per pad) help you track usage and anticipate when to reorder.

Which insert size do I need?

Can I use this in wet areas?

How long does production take?

Does the WaterHog mat portion work without the inserts?
