Comfort Station Max Mat

Price range: $65.95 through $835.95

Formerly known as Cushion Station — same superior mat, new name.

Healthcare facilities and food processing plants can’t use just any anti-fatigue mat. They need materials that meet FDA and USDA standards. They need mats that can be autoclaved for sterilization. They need antimicrobial protection that lasts. And they need drainage options for wet surgical suites and food prep areas.

Comfort Station Max Mat delivers all of this with 100% nitrile foam — not a blend, but pure nitrile rubber that’s grease-proof, oil-proof, and chemical resistant. The 7/16″ closed-cell construction provides genuine anti-fatigue comfort while meeting the strict requirements of food processing and healthcare environments.

Available with or without drainage holes. Autoclave sterilizable. Commercially launderable. NFSI certified high-traction. Sizes up to 4′ x 20′.

Description

Why Comfort Station Max Mat?

Formerly known as Cushion Station — same FDA/USDA compliant mat, now with the Comfort Station Max name.

Here’s the challenge in healthcare and food processing: you need anti-fatigue comfort for workers standing long shifts, but you also need materials that meet strict regulatory standards. Standard anti-fatigue mats use PVC or nitrile-blended foams that may not pass FDA/USDA requirements for food contact environments. They can’t be autoclaved. They degrade when exposed to the aggressive cleaning chemicals required in these settings.

Comfort Station Max Mat is engineered specifically for these demanding environments. The mat is constructed from 100% high-density closed-cell nitrile foam — pure nitrile, not a blend. This material meets FDA and USDA standards for non-contact surfaces in food processing and food preparation areas.

The antimicrobial treatment is built into the material for lifetime protection against odors and degradation. The mat can be sterilized in a standard autoclave — critical for surgical suites, scrub stations, and laboratory environments. It can also be commercially laundered or washed by hand.

Choose solid surface for dry environments or drainage holes for wet areas like surgical suites, scrub stations, dishwashing areas, and food prep lines. Both versions feature the same 7/16″ cushioning, beveled safety edges, and NFSI high-traction certification.

The modular sizing system offers 11 standard sizes from 2′ x 3.2′ up to 4′ x 20.1′, letting you cover extended workstation runs without seams or custom ordering.

FAQs

What happened to Cushion Station Mat?
Cushion Station has been renamed Comfort Station Max by M+A Matting. It’s the same product with the same SKUs (370/371), now part of the Comfort Station product family.

What makes Comfort Station Max different from other anti-fatigue mats?
Comfort Station Max uses 100% nitrile foam (not a blend) and meets FDA/USDA standards for non-contact surfaces in food processing environments. It can be autoclaved for sterilization, which most anti-fatigue mats cannot tolerate.

Is this mat really FDA/USDA compliant?
Yes. Comfort Station Max meets FDA and USDA standards for non-contact surfaces and is manufactured to meet standards for food processing and food preparation areas.

Can I autoclave this mat?
Yes. Comfort Station Max can be sterilized in standard autoclave equipment. This makes it ideal for surgical suites, sterile processing, and laboratory environments.

Should I choose with or without drainage holes?
Choose without holes (SKU 370) for dry environments like lab stations and dry production areas. Choose with holes (SKU 371) for wet environments like surgical suites, scrub stations, and dishwashing areas.

Why does this mat use 100% nitrile instead of a nitrile blend?
Pure nitrile foam provides superior grease, oil, and chemical resistance compared to nitrile/PVC blends. It’s also more suitable for autoclave sterilization and meets stricter regulatory requirements for food and healthcare environments.

What’s the difference between Comfort Station Max and Comfort Flow?
Comfort Station Max is 7/16″ thick, 100% nitrile foam, FDA/USDA compliant, and autoclave safe — designed for healthcare and food processing. Comfort Flow is 3/8″ thick, also 100% nitrile, and designed primarily for commercial kitchen drainage applications.

Is this mat static dissipative?
Yes. Comfort Station Max has an ESD rating of 3.9 x 10⁹ ohms, making it safe for electronic assembly areas and preventing static buildup.

Why are the sizes unusual (3.2′ instead of 3′)?
Comfort Station Max uses a modular sizing system designed to cover extended workstation runs. The sizes are optimized for healthcare and food processing line layouts.
